What type of work will I be doing after the program?
Our gradutes hold positions such as:
Asbestos & Lead Abatement Worker:
Duties may include the removal of lead and asbestos from buildings scheduled to be renovated
or demolished. Workers use a variety of hand and power tools, such as vacuums and scrapers, to
remove asbestos and lead from surfaces. During the abatement project workers utilize
personal protective equipment and air samples are collected and monitored to insure
a safe work environment.
How much will I earn in this field?
Our graduates earn an average wage of $12-$18/hour. The average hourly wage of a B'more green graduate in
2007 was $13.62. Please note that this is just an entry level wage.

Civic Works' Career developer and staff will work with you to build confidence, assure job readiness
and secure the opportunity that is best for you.
How much will the training cost?
The full seven-week program and professional job placement is provided at no cost to all
those accepted into B'more Green!
Am I eligible?
All Appicants must: attend an information session
Submit a written application
Attend an interview with staff
Have a valid driver's license
Be 18 years or older
Submit to a criminal background investigation (no sex offense)
Submit to a urinalysis drug screening
Pass a respirator physical exam
How can I apply?
Information sessions will be scheduled for prospective applicants. Please check
back with us for specific dates.
During the session, applicants will listen to a presentation, fill out/turn in their applications, and interview
with a staff member.
