Commemorative Tree Program

Trees are a vital part of our parks and Baltimore City. The Department of Recreation and Parks’ Commemorative Tree Program is one way to honor a special occasion while enhancing the beauty of City parks. Commemorative trees are planted for birthdays, weddings, births, anniversaries, reunions, holidays, graduations or in remembrance of a loved one.
The Department of Recreation and Parks and Civic Works’ staff will assist interested parties in selecting tree species and a site in either Clifton or Druid Hill Park. The party will receive a certificate and a picture of the tree. The Department of Recreation and Parks and Civic Works will also record the information in a special commemorative tree book that will be on view at Department headquarters in Druid Hill Park or Civic Works headquarters in Clifton Park. Please complete the attached form, accompanied by your donation, and send them to the address listed below on the form. Department or Civic Works staff will personally contact regarding the planting of the commemorative trees. Planting will take place in the fall each year.
The Department of Recreation and Parks or Civic Works cannot guarantee the commemorative trees beyond the warranty of the supplier. However, if damage should occur, commemoratives trees will be top priority for tree replacement by the Department. Should you have any questions about the program, please call our Park Conservation Office at 410.396.0339 or Civic Works at 410-366-8533
