Project Lightbulb

    Another bright idea for Baltimore.

A local carbon offset opportunity provided by Civic Works!

The electricity savings alone, will offer an average carbon reduction of 50 lbs a month per household! That equates to an average carbon reduction of 600 lbs a year. More about the project:

Project Lightbulb recently completed a pilot project involving the installation of CFLs, energy efficient shower heads, and other energy-saving devices in 300 low-income homes. Based on the success of the pilot, Project Lightbulb will begin a larger initiative during the summer of 2008 which, if fully funded, will serve an additional 2,000 homes. Data from the pilot project indicates that it saves on average 53 kwh per house per month in addition to gas and water savings.
