Baltimore Conservation Leadership Corps
The Baltimore Conservation Leadership Corps (BCLC) is a partnership between Civic Works, the Student Conservation Association and Johnson Controls to create Baltimore’s future conservation leaders. BCLC offers summer conservation opportunities for high school students, aged 15 – 18.
BCLC students spend the summer completing vital conservation projects necessary to protecting the city’s parks, improving access for the community and restoring native habitats. During the program, the students complete hands-on conservation projects, build job skills, develop a strong work ethic and gain a sense of stewardship for the environment. Each member of BCLC gains valuable job experience and earns a meaningful wage and more importantly, the young people develop into leaders and leave with a sense of accomplishment and pride for their communities.
