REACH! Partnership School, a public secondary school (grades 6 – 12) located on the historic Lake Clifton Campus at 2801 St. Lo Drive, in the heart of beautiful Clifton Park, is seeking mature, responsible, volunteers for several part-time positions. Volunteers must be at least 20 years of age, have a clean criminal record, be drug free, committed, mature, dependable, and eligible for enrollment in the AmeriCorps National Service Program.
Those accepted will be given a modest living allowance (approximately $8.00 per hour) and upon successful completion of one year of service, earn a federal education grant of $2,625 or $2,038, depending on the number of total service hours. The education grant may be used for college or technical school tuition and expenses or to repay outstanding student loans. Volunteers who are age 55 or older my transfer their grant to their child/foster child or grandchild.
We need part-time receptionists, hall monitors, tutors, and arts/recreation leaders. Volunteers must be able to commit to:
- Paid training July 26 – August 10, 2010, Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM,
- Serving their agreed upon shift for the complete school year (August 30, 2010 to June 17, 2011).
The following school-year shifts are available. (Monday – Friday on all school days)
- 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
We want volunteers who are mature, dependable, assertive, and able to relate to and engage adolescents (ages 11-17).
College experience is desired for some positions, but is not required.
