Commemorative Tree Program
Trees are a vital part of our parks and of Baltimore City. Planting a tree has long been a way to honor special events or people, such as birthdays, weddings, births, anniversaries, reunions, holidays, graduations or in remembrance of a loved one. Civic Works has partnered with the Department of Recreation and Parks’ Commemorative Tree Program to offer Commemorative Trees in Northeast Baltimore’s Clifton Park.
With a donation of $250, Civic Works will plant a flowering tree and with a donation of $300, we will plant a shade tree. Civic Works and the Department of Recreation and Parks’ staff will assist interested parties in selecting a tree species and site in Clifton Park. The location of the tree as well as the person or event being honored will be recorded in a special commemorative tree book on view in the Clifton Mansion. Please complete the attached form, accompanied by your donation, and send them to the address listed below on the form. We will contact you regarding the planting of your commemorative tree, which will take place in the fall each year.
Civic Works and the Department of Recreation and Parks cannot guarantee the commemorative trees beyond the warranty of the supplier. However, if damage should occur, commemorative trees will be top priority for tree replacement. Should you have any questions about the program, please call us at 410-366-8533.
