Career Mentor Program Mission Statement:

The mission of the B'more Green Career Mentor Program is to provide professional guidance to the graduates of the B’more Green Brownfield Program so that they will develop and sustain long professional careers in the environmental technology field.

Career Mentor Job Description:

B’more Green trains unemployed and underemployed Baltimore residents for the environmental field. Our trainees obtain certification after completion of classroom and site training in environmental remediation and hazardous material abatement. Our graduates acquire entry-level positions throughout the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Career mentors assist our graduates in career development and advancement.

Duties:

    One-on-One Career Mentor:
    • Telephone counseling

    • Periodical one-on-one meeting with mentee

    • Information gathering and sharing with mentee
    Qualifications:
    • Knowledge and experience in environmental technology or construction
    • Willing to spend his/her time and expertise to guide the development of HAZMAT entry-level workers
    Time Requirements:
      1-3 hours a month for a period of one year
    Benefits:
    • Sharing work expertise and experience with new workers in the environmental technology field or construction business
    • Meeting and working with people with similar interest
    • Assisting in the advancement and success of new workers in the field
